The fire happened around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, off County Road 4127, about 60 miles southeast of Dallas, near Canton.

At 12:30 in the morning, while most of Canton slept, a family was trapped. Three escaped. Four children did not. And then a mother who tried to save them — Jasmine Henson, just 27 years old, with four beautiful children, ages 3, 5, 8, and 10 — was taken too.

Four children. One mother. One home off County Road 4127. Gone.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Henson family, to the father, to the grandmother, to Canton, Texas, and to all of Van Zandt County.

Rest in peace, Jasmine Henson, 27. Rest in peace to your four precious babies. 8, 5, 3, and 10 years old — gone too soon, but forever loved in Canton.
