HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — In the face of tragedy, we come together to mourn the loss of Shari Swartz, who tragically passed away Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash just north of Findlay, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of County Road 99 and County Road 212 in Hancock County. Though we may not understand why, we hold on to hope and faith in the midst of darkness.
According to the sheriff’s office, Swartz was riding as a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway while traveling west on County Road 212. The vehicle then struck a utility pole at the intersection, trapping both Swartz and the driver inside.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene north of Findlay and had to extricate both occupants from the heavily damaged vehicle.
Shari Hemminger-Swartz sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver survived the crash but suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. We pray for their speedy recovery.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said the preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling west on County Road 212 when it left the roadway and collided with the utility pole. As we search for answers, may we find strength in each other.
