GLENCOE, Ark. — The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Rhett Carter, a 24-year-old employee whose dedication, kindness, and servant’s heart left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Rhett passed away on August 25, 2026, leaving behind grieving family members, friends, coworkers, and the entire cooperative family.
NAEC shared that Rhett’s loss has been deeply felt throughout the organization, describing him as a great friend and valued member of the team. The cooperative extended its prayers and support to Rhett’s wife, Kiley, his parents Ross and Misti, siblings Tressie and Cooper, and all of his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
Rhett began his journey with NAEC in December 2022 as an intern in the Ash Flat district office’s warehouse. His dedication and strong work ethic quickly earned him a full-time position as a warehouse assistant and weekend dispatcher in July 2024.
In May 2025, Rhett advanced to the cooperative’s right-of-way division in the Ash Flat district, where he continued serving NAEC members by helping maintain safe and reliable electric service.
Through his work in the warehouse, dispatch, and right-of-way departments, Rhett became an important part of NAEC’s Operations team. Colleagues remembered him as someone who was always willing to help, including responding at all hours when outages affected community members.
Beyond his professional contributions, Rhett was remembered for his generosity, positive spirit, and the way he made those around him feel valued. His coworkers said his actions reflected a true servant’s heart both on the job and in his personal life.
In honor of Rhett’s memory, his family has requested donations be made to Humphries Cemetery in Glencoe or Public Timber Project Bible Donations.
NAEC’s Ash Flat office remains closed during this time, and the Salem and Mountain Home offices will also close on Friday, August 28, allowing employees to attend Rhett’s services and pay their respects.
Rhett Carter will be deeply missed by his wife, family, friends, coworkers, and the many NAEC members he served. Though his life was tragically cut short, his kindness, dedication, and legacy of service will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
