72-Year-Old Queens County Man Dies After Three-Vehicle Crash on Route 2 in Springvale, Nova Scotia

SPRINGVALE, N.S. — The Queens County community is mourning the loss of a 72-year-old man who died following a serious three-vehicle collision on Route 2 in Springvale on August 24, 2026.

Queens District RCMP responded to the crash at approximately 1:30 p.m. near Colville Road. The collision involved a passenger car, a tractor-trailer, and a tow truck.

According to the initial investigation, the passenger car struck the rear of the tractor-trailer traveling ahead of it before colliding with a tow truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The 72-year-old Queens County man was the sole occupant of the passenger car. He was transported to hospital for treatment but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

No one else was seriously injured.

RCMP said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.

Emergency crews from Island EMS, North River Fire Department, and the Department of Transportation responded to the scene.

For the victim’s family, the tragedy has brought an immeasurable loss. A routine journey ended in heartbreak, leaving loved ones to grieve someone whose life was taken far too soon.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and have not released the victim’s identity.
