Keirra Calvin Obituary: Forrest City Woman, 28, Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run Crash

FORREST CITY, Ark. — The Forrest City community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 28-year-old Keirra Calvin, who was fatally struck by a pickup truck while walking along Newcastle Road early Friday morning.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, the crash happened shortly after midnight on August 21, 2026. Calvin was walking in the area when she was struck by a pickup truck.

She was transported to Forrest City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

Investigators later located the vehicle believed to be involved through an OnStar alert system. Officers tracked the vehicle to a residence on Tennessee Street, where they made contact with 28-year-old Isacc Sanders.

Police said Sanders told investigators he had been driving along Newcastle Road toward Arkansas Street when he struck something he believed was a deer.

Sanders was taken into custody and transported to the county jail, where he was booked on a charge of negligent homicide. He was later released on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation into the fatal crash continues as authorities work to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the collision.

For Calvin’s family, friends, and those who knew her, the investigation comes amid the devastating reality of losing a loved one without warning. Her death has left a painful void in the Forrest City community.
