FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — The Framingham community is mourning the tragic loss of a 39-year-old man who died Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Irving Street, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities said Framingham Police responded at approximately 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, to the area of 180 Irving Street following reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from serious injuries and immediately began lifesaving efforts. The man was transported to MetroWest Medical Center, where he later died despite emergency medical care.
Investigators said the vehicle involved was a gray 2016 Volkswagen GTI. The driver reportedly left the scene following the collision and had not been identified as of Monday.
The fatal crash is now under investigation by the Framingham Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office as authorities work to determine what happened and locate the driver involved.
Officials are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the Volkswagen or its driver to come forward and contact the Framingham Police Bureau of Investigative Services.
