MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Family and loved ones are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Lester Witmore, 35, also known as “Chucky,” who was fatally shot late at night near 6th and Ring, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the area at approximately 11:10 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Witmore was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The news has left those who knew Witmore grieving a life suddenly taken away. Loved ones have shared their sorrow as they remember the man they knew as Chucky and try to come to terms with his unexpected death.
Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect, and investigators continue to search for the person or people responsible for the shooting. The circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain under investigation.
As detectives work to establish what happened, family and friends are left with memories of Lester and the painful reality of his absence.
