Ramsgate Murder Investigation Underway After 52-Year-Old Man Dies in Harbour Area Stabbing; 21-Year-Old Arrested

RAMSGATE, England — A murder investigation has been launched in Ramsgate after a 52-year-old man died following a suspected stabbing in the harbour area early Sunday morning, August 23, 2026.

Kent Police said officers were called at approximately 4:47 a.m. following reports of a man armed with a knife near the harbour. Officers responding to the scene found two men suffering injuries consistent with stab wounds—one in Harbour Street and another in Harbour Parade.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The 52-year-old man who was found injured in Harbour Street later died from his injuries. Police confirmed that his next of kin has been informed.

The second victim, a 48-year-old man, was also treated at hospital and has since been released.

A 21-year-old local British man was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody as investigators work to establish what led to the violence. Kent Police said officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Additional police patrols remain in the Ramsgate area while detectives continue their inquiries. Authorities are urging members of the public to avoid speculation and allow investigators to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
