PINE GROVE, Ala. — A man is recovering in stable condition after being shot multiple times late Saturday night in the Pine Grove community, while investigators continue searching for a 21-year-old Bay Minette man accused of attempted murder.
Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a home on Pine Grove Road Ext. near Nicholsville Road shortly before midnight on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following reports that a man had been shot.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately provided medical care until emergency personnel arrived. The victim was taken to a local hospital before being flown to an area trauma center, where he remains in stable condition.
Investigators and crime scene personnel worked into the early morning hours, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Information obtained from the victim and people at the scene led investigators to identify Jaytwon Williams, 21, of Bay Minette, as the suspect, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Williams was already wanted on an unrelated felony domestic violence warrant and is now also wanted in connection with the reported attempted murder.
Authorities warn that Williams should be considered armed and dangerous and are asking members of the public not to approach him if they see him. Anyone with information about the shooting or Williams’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 251-937-0202.
The victim’s identity has not been released as the investigation continues.
The Sheriff’s Office praised the responding patrol deputies for their quick actions and lifesaving efforts, saying their immediate response provided a positive outlook in what remains a serious case.
