CHICAGO, Ill. — The Far South Side community is mourning the tragic death of Devin Jones, 25, who was fatally shot early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to the area of 131st Street and Langley Avenue at approximately 3:40 a.m., where they found Jones lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Jones was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as Devin Jones, who was also known by the nickname “D-Money.” His sudden death has left family, friends, and loved ones grieving a life lost far too soon.
As those closest to Jones mourn, they are remembering him for the relationships he built and the memories he leaves behind. For his loved ones, the early-morning violence has brought an unimaginable sense of loss.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and additional information may be released as authorities continue their work.
