COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus community is mourning after an early Sunday morning shooting in the Short North area turned fatal, leaving one person dead and an active homicide investigation underway.
According to authorities, Columbus Police officers responded to the area of North High Street and East 4th Avenue around 3:00 a.m. Sunday following reports of gunfire.
The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, but despite emergency medical efforts, the individual was later pronounced dead at approximately 5:30 a.m.
