BELLS, Tenn. — A Bells convenience store employee was injured in a frightening armed robbery Sunday morning after a suspect entered the Exxon Safari Corner Market on Highway 412 South and shot the cashier during the incident.
According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery happened at approximately the store located at 5054 Highway 412 S in Bells, Tennessee. Deputies were alerted after a customer called 911 and reported finding the cashier lying on the floor inside the business.
Emergency crews, including Crockett County Sheriff’s deputies, investigators, and Crockett County EMS, responded quickly to the scene. The injured employee was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have not released the victim’s condition at this time.
The violent attack has left the Bells community deeply concerned as residents come to terms with the incident and offer support to the employee and their family during this difficult time.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene following the robbery and remains at large. Investigators are continuing efforts to gather evidence, identify the person responsible, and bring the suspect into custody.
