MISSOURI — The community is mourning the tragic loss of Reonn Massey, a 32-year-old man who died following a late-night three-vehicle collision on Lilac Road that also left two others injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal crash happened at approximately 9:02 p.m. on Thursday night on northbound Lilac Road, just north of Chambers Road.
Investigators said the crash began when a vehicle traveling northbound attempted to pass another vehicle and crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver first struck a second vehicle before continuing forward and sliding into a third vehicle, causing a violent three-vehicle collision.
Authorities identified the driver as Reonn Massey, 32, who suffered critical injuries in the crash. Emergency responders transported Massey to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The sudden passing of Massey has left family, friends, and those who knew him grieving the loss of a life taken far too soon.
Two other people were injured in the crash. The driver of the second vehicle, a 70-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. A 14-year-old girl who was traveling in the third vehicle sustained minor injuries and also received medical care.
No additional injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released further details about what led to the attempted passing maneuver or whether factors such as speed, impairment, or road conditions contributed to the collision.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues investigating the crash as troopers work to determine the complete sequence of events and any additional circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.
