GLASGOW VILLAGE, MISSOURI — A community continues to grieve after the tragic death of a 14-year-old boy, identified as D.M., who was killed after being struck by gunfire during a shootout in Glasgow Village. Authorities have announced charges against Tyron Bankhead, 17, and Tymon Bankhead in connection with the deadly incident.
According to investigators with the St. Louis County Police Department, the shooting occurred on October 8, 2025, near the 10200 block of Hobkirk Drive after two groups, involving multiple juveniles, exchanged gunfire in the neighborhood.
Authorities allege that the Bankhead brothers, along with two other unidentified individuals, moved through the area, cutting through yards and positioning themselves before the gunfire began. Investigators said residential surveillance footage captured portions of the movements leading up to the shooting.
During the exchange of gunfire, investigators determined that shots were fired from both groups. However, according to police, ballistic evidence later showed that the bullet that fatally struck the 14-year-old victim came from the direction of the group associated with the Bankhead brothers.
The young victim was inside his own home when he was struck by the gunfire. Despite efforts to save him, the teenager later died from his injuries, leaving his family, friends, and neighbors devastated by a tragedy authorities say should never have happened.
The loss of the innocent teen has brought renewed heartbreak to the Glasgow Village community, where residents continue to mourn a young life taken far too soon. Family members and loved ones are left remembering a child whose future was cut short by violence that unfolded outside his home.
