SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — The Sumter community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Trevino Hall, a respected assistant basketball coach at Sumter High School, who was killed in a tragic two-vehicle collision Monday. His unexpected passing has left students, athletes, educators, colleagues, friends, and family members grieving the loss of a man remembered for his dedication, kindness, and commitment to helping others.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on Cane Savannah Road near St. Paul Church Road in Sumter County. Investigators said Hall was traveling northbound in a Hyundai SUV when a Ford SUV traveling in the opposite direction crossed the center line and struck his vehicle in a head-on collision.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene following the crash, but Hall suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and have not released additional information regarding the cause of the crash.
