The music community is in shock and mourning after the sudden passing of Dave, the beloved frontman and heart of the band V8.
In a heartbreaking statement released on behalf of Dave’s partner Victoria, his bandmates confirmed the devastating news. Dave was involved in a motorcycle accident on Monday, 5th October, and has passed away.
“On behalf of Dave’s partner Victoria, it is with shock & disbelief that we have to share the sad news that our friend and bandmate Dave, was in a motorcycle accident on Monday 5th October, he has passed away and we are heartbroken.”
For V8, Dave was irreplaceable.
“V8 was Dave, he was the band, we are a family, we have grown together and made countless memories over the years. We are absolutely devastated by his loss and there really are no words that can express how much he will be missed. The miles travelled, the stages played, the laughs, our bond as brothers and everything in between.”
The band said their thoughts and love are first and foremost with Dave’s children, Steven Cowan and Lucy Norsworthy-Hennesey and his long-time partner Victoria Corbett, along with all of Dave’s family and friends.
The band has kindly asked for privacy during this unimaginable time: “We kindly ask everyone to respect their privacy and allow them the time and space they need to grieve this unimaginable loss.”
Paying a final tribute to their brother, the band said:
“Dave will always be a part of V8, and he will always hold a place in our hearts. Rest easy, Dave. Forever V8. Mark, Charlie, Chris & Mick”
Dave’s legacy will live on through the music, the miles, and the countless memories he made with his V8 family and fans.
