SHARON, Pa. — A 24-year-old Mercer County man has died after suffering critical injuries from a crossbow arrow early Thursday morning in Sharon, as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim has been identified as Billy E. Colwell, 24.
According to the Sharon Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Myers Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday following a report involving a man who had been injured by a crossbow arrow.
When officers arrived, they found Colwell suffering from critical injuries. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. He later died from his injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that Colwell was wounded by a crossbow. However, investigators have not yet disclosed how the incident began, who fired the crossbow, or whether anyone else was involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
