FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. — The Bunn High School community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Juan Alvarado Vazquez, 17, a senior student who was tragically killed in a devastatint is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic passing of Brother Christopher Munds of Carpenters Local 243, who lost his life in a jobsite accident earlier this summer. Brother Munds was a 5-year member of our Union who was working on a bridge project in Lawrenceville, IL when the tragic accident occurred. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Juan, who was known by the nickname “Wavy,” was identified as the driver involved in the crash that claimed his life and left five other teenagers injured. The accident has sent shockwaves through the school community, leaving classmates, teachers, friends, and loved ones grieving the loss of a young life with so much ahead of him.
Those who knew Juan are remembering him as a cherished friend and member of the Bunn High School community. His sudden passing has created an unimaginable void for his family and everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
The five other teenagers injured in the crash were transported for medical treatment as the community continues to hope for their recovery.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash as they work to determine what led to the tragic single-vehicle accident.
