NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO — The Niagara Falls community is mourning the tragic loss of Mitchell Snoddon, a 35-year-old resident who died following a shooting on Thorold Stone Road, as police continue their investigation into what authorities believe was a targeted homicide.
According to the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), officers responded at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, to a residence near Thorold Stone Road and Dorchester Road after receiving reports that a man had been shot.
Investigators say two suspects attended the residence and shot Snoddon with a handgun. Niagara Emergency Medical Services transported him to hospital, but he tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.
The NRPS Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and has identified the victim as Mitchell Snoddon of Niagara Falls. Police have described the incident as believed to be targeted, though the investigation remains ongoing and the suspects and firearm involved remain outstanding.
Detectives have obtained images of the suspects and the suspect vehicle, which has been identified as a white 2022–2026 Nissan Rogue SUV. Police are asking members of the public, especially anyone who was in the Thorold Stone Road area around the time of the shooting, to review dash camera footage or surveillance video for possible sightings of the vehicle.
Authorities are searching for two suspects described in connection with the fatal shooting. Police say one suspect is described as a male between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5’6” with a thin build, wearing a white shirt, dark pants, shoes, sunglasses, and a red bandana. The second suspect is described as a female between 18 and 25 years old with dark brown hair and brown eyes, wearing baggy blue sweatpants, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and white shoes.
Following news of Snoddon’s death, the Niagara Falls community has been left shocked and saddened. Family members, friends, and loved ones are now facing the painful reality of losing someone whose life was taken far too soon.
